good reads.
so the amazing children's author Laura Numeroff, of "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" book also has other charming stories like it. who knew. no me, but our Gran knew. what a perfect christmas present. so some of her other books that have us in love are "If You Give a Pig a Party and If You Take a Mouse to School." read them. we do every night practially. how we love our reading time before bed.
longboard rack.
so this project came from a thrift store for $5. can you believe it? who finds a longboard in perfectly aged shape? just pure luck.
I used recycled hooks from another long-gone project and drilled them with short screws right into the long board. and no, I didn't measure. just eyeballed it. love to eyeball, hate to measure. then I used my trusty stud finder, for walls, not for other reasons... and drilled long screws through the existing wholes for the wheel mounts. just love my drill. couldn't live without it.
and done. loved how it turned out. the boys love hanging their various superhero capes and hats on it. just at their heigth.
paper bag monsters.
we did make these a while ago but I loved the way they turned out and the way the boys played and played with them. also loved the googly-eyes. the more the better.
simple to make. brown paper bags, scrap paper, glue sticks, googly-eyes, crayons.
*glue stick so crutial since the liquidy glue is a mess for us. even my little one can rub it on with a little help. this craft took us about 30 minutes to make and hours of fun to play. try it! don't you love Nachie's rockstar?
go.
these are my boys, 5, 4, and 2. and yes, they are busy and interested in the world. so what is the role of a mother? I have been thinking about all the things I want to teach them. different ways to open their eyes to the world. joys of creativity and the outdoors, making things and just experiencing the happiness of childhood. what a lucky mom I am to be able to do all these things with my boys.
so this is a blog devoted to that. find crafts, party decor and ideas, boys rooms, snackies, treats, dinners and lunches that boys love. handmade items for boys of all ages, experiences we loved and experiences we want to well-experience.
and did I mention that we have our last baby on the way...due in september. so what are the chances it is a boy? well either way we will be ready with a childhood full of excitement, activities and fun.
